CJ345 Managing Hazardous Materials

This course will examine an all-hazardous approach to Managing Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) Incidences. The course will address Unified Command of a HAZMAT incident and how there are several facets to be considered in managing these incidents in a local, state, and federal arena. Students will learn the basics of HAZMAT management as well as the incipient stages of command and control, utilizing guidelines by the NIMS system as well as USDOT. Upon successful course completion, students will understand the management of Hazardous Materials Management at macro level and the relationship to Homeland Security.
