MED256 Medical Office Procedures II

This course is designed to develop an awareness of the responsibilities of the office professional. Emphasis is on current operating functions, ethics and professional liability, basic bookkeeping and accounting aspects of a medical practice management, supervisory duties, and professionalism. Other topics include but not limited to: process payments and collect overdue payments, process payroll, develop and control revenues and expenses, conflict resolution, leadership and legal concepts and ethical responsibilities. "Hands-on " simulations and role-playing to promote development of competencies required in a medical setting are emphasized with the use of virtual medical office software. 45 clock hours.
