It isn’t a surprise that many of the schools of ECPI University are actively involved in the community supporting many causes and events. Such was the case over the weekend of June 3 and 4 at Leesville Road High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Over 25 staff and students of ECPI volunteered to support Relay for Life and raise funds to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Students from the medical assisting and LPN programs of Medical Careers Institute took vital signs while massage students gave chair massages. The group surpassed their fundraising goal of $1500 with a $1718 donation to the American Cancer Society. “Our students really learned from this experience of giving back to the community and look forward to participating again next year,” commented Gloria Hicks, Director of Student Affairs.
