Culinary Insitute of Virginia Graduate Honored | ECPI UniversityErvin Cummings graduated from ECPI University’s School of Culinary Arts, Culinary Institute of Virginia, just over one year ago. In that short time, he has managed to impress a great many people. Ervin works on the U.S.N.S. Spearhead, operated by Military Sealift Command. He’s the ship’s chef but that title fails to capture all he does.

First off, he’s the only chef on the ship. He alone cooks 300 meals per day. What’s more, he is always looking for other ways to serve, including firefighting and assisting with helicopters landings. ECPI University, Charleston SC Student Sails Toward a Bright Future!

ECPI University Charleston SC Student Joan Rogers is the kind of student every school wants. She has a 3.7 GPA. She’s the President of the Business Club, Vice President of the campus’ Student Veterans of America chapter, and has just landed a one-year internship with Charleston Defense Contractors Association (CDCA).

An 11 year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, she is currently working on her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management. Military to Manufacturing Graduates Ready to Move Forward

ECPI University is pleased to announce a new group of veterans has completed training through the Military to Manufacturing (M2M) Program. M2M is an initiative between ECPI and the Virginia Manufacturers Association to help prepare returning service members for entry-level jobs in advanced manufacturing. Each participant completes 100 hours of training in an array of critical skills areas, including math and measurement, spatial reasoning and manufacturing technology, and quality and business acumen. Several employers were on hand at the ceremony to meet graduates and discuss career opportunities.
