One of ECPI University’s core values is Innovation. In each and every discipline, we look
to find ways to improve our learning experience and teaching methods but more impor
-
tantly, integrate emerging technologies into our learning platforms. Recently, a task force
of faculty and technologists decided to revolutionize what a textbook should be. They set
out to use new authoring tools to create a virtual book which utilizes mobile technology
and multimedia. Why should a textbook be boring and only on a printed page in this day
and age? It shouldn’t.
The Introduction to Operating Systems class now has a virtual publication that works with
mobile devices, has simulations, includes multimedia and does assessment. The pilot
classes gave it excellent reviews. Let’s make learning exciting. ECPI University is dedi
-
cated to improving the education experience and enhancing what you can learn in a short
amount of time and, if possible, in a conveniently accessible environment. The future of education is exciting and we are
dedicating resources to accomplish that goal. We want to be your mobile university.
Sincerely,
Mark Dreyfus
W
hen Vi Lam Rodriguez was seeking
an externship, Tiffany Corpuz was
there to help. When Vi was looking to
move up the corporate ladder at Sentara
Healthcare, Tiffany recommended her.
And when Tiffany was looking to boost
performance in her department, Vi proved
to be a valuable asset.
Tiffany, an ECPI University Healthcare
Administration graduate, has been in-
strumental in helping a number of ECPI
students secure rewarding externships.
While attending ECPI, she was an ad-
ministrative secretary at Sentara Leigh
Hospital. Following graduation, she has
steadily advanced to increasing levels
of responsibility, currently serving in a
leadership position in the newly-created
Charge Integrity Unit.
Vi is a great example of someone who
makes the most of each opportunity. As a
young mother and wife, attending col-
lege classes in person was not an option.
After meeting with admissions counsel-
ors at ECPI University’s Online campus,
she saw the potential to reach her own
goals in her own way. She began study-
ing healthcare administration and quickly
discovered that she had an entire team
supporting her efforts. “I was fully-satis-
fied with ECPI’s staff and education from
day one,” she says. “They encourage
their students and make sure they have
no problems. This keeps us motivated,
happy and later, successful.”
As for the results, Tiffany and Vi have
proved to be a great team. In just under
two years, their department received
the Sentara President’s Award. Both of
these ECPI graduates are testaments to
the power of dedication, hard work, and
networking.
