D
ominion Enterprises has once again
honored ECPI University, selecting
a group of students to participate in
its bi-annual “Hackathon.” Led by
the company’s IT/web development
professionals, the two-day event brings
together college students across Virginia
to gain hands-on experience in the field
of software development and design.
During the Hackathon, students work
alongside a coaching staff of Dominion
employees – who work in the field of
software development, graphic design,
interface design and project management
– and explore various creative ideas and
approaches to develop new web and
mobile applications.
“This Hackathon is a great opportunity
for technology students in Virginia to get
a taste of what developing for a living is
all about,” says Dominion Enterprises
Chief Information Officer Joe Fuller. “The
students get to learn, we get to show
off our facilities, and our people and
business units get some fresh thinking.”
Dominion Enterprises is a leading
marketing services and publishing

recreational and commercial vehicle, real

parenting, and travel industries. The

comprehensive suite of technology-
based marketing solutions including
Internet advertising, lead generation,
customer relationship management,
website design and hosting, and data
management services.
The summer is a time to reset your goals and look forward to finishing your degree. ECPI students
continue to pursue their career by taking advantage of our year-round schedule. Our students are
special and their perseverance through twelve months a year is one reason why employers prefer our
graduates over others. They are dedicated and driven to succeed. Employers are always looking for
those who demonstrate professional qualities.
Helping successful graduates is a team effort. It begins with dedicated faculty and staff, and is
nurtured by the many valuable partnerships that we have developed throughout the communities we
serve. ECPI’s collaboration with employers and industry leaders ensures that our curriculum is up to
date and your degree more relevant. Supporting the communities in which we live is equally important
and we encourage all students to participate in their locality. I am continuously surprised by all the
great achievements of our students, faculty, and staff. Thank you for your continued support and
participation.
Sincerely,
Mark Dreyfus
