Student Veterans Attend
SVA Leadership Institute
S
tudent veterans from two ECPI
University campuses were selected
to attend an all-expense paid trip to
the Student Veterans of America (SVA)
Leadership Institute, held June 26-29
at Walmart Corporate Headquarters
in Bentonville, Arkansas. SVA Chapter
Presidents Mark Lynch (Richmond/Inns-
brook Campus) and Susan King (Virginia
Beach Campus) have now returned
home and they are ready to share what
they’ve learned.
“The need to support student veterans
has never been greater,” says Lynch.
“SVA has only been around since 2008,
so these conferences are really helpful
as we work toward helping our chapters
reach their full potential.” SVA’s Leader-
ship Institute brings a select group of
chapter leaders together for intensive
leadership training. Topics include:
Strategic Planning
Collaborative Integration
Advanced Chapter Management
Techniques
Networking and Professional
Etiquette
“We really want to pay close attention
to leadership continuity,” says King.
“Because ECPI University has an ac-
celerated program, our students finish
school faster than just about anyone in
the country so we have to make sure
that we have prepared the next slate
of chapter leaders to take over before
we’ve graduated.”
