ECPI University to Host Community Forum

Terrorism in Your Backyard

Raleigh, NC ECPI University is pleased to host a community forum, Terrorism in Your Backyard, featuring international counter-terrorism expert Robert Kaneiss.  This free event is scheduled for November 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at ECPI University’s Raleigh campus, located at 4101 Doie Cope Road.

Mr. Kaneiss is President of MAGNI International Group, a leading US-based security firm that provides innovative and comprehensive risk management solutions for today’s global commercial shipping industry, government agencies, and private entities. He will share best practices for detecting, preventing, and responding to acts of terrorism at the local level.

A former Navy SEAL and independent leader of the U.S. Department of State’s Anti-Terrorism Assistance Team, Mr. Kaneiss had been deployed to nearly 40 countries as a high-level security consultant/trainer of special operations forces and law enforcement organizations.  He has experience in sniper operations, cryptological keymats, weaponry, self-defense, special optics, drug trade interdiction, specialized reconnaissance, surveillance tactics, maritime anti-piracy operations, and personnel protective services.

Expert Offers Tips for Children’s Dental Health at Halloween

Richmond, VA – With candy consumption peaking during the Halloween season, parents are being challenged to find ways to help protect their children’s dental health. Sugar-filled candies fuel acid development that damages teeth, leads to cavities and other adverse effects on oral hygiene. So, it should come as no surprise that October is designated as National Dental Hygiene Month.

Charmaine Chappell, Dental Assisting Program Director at ECPI University’s School of Health Science, Medical Careers Institute (MCI) in Richmond can provide important advice on ways to help mitigate the damage.
