ECPI University Students Lauded for App Development Skills

Students at ECPI University’s Newport News Campus recently received public and private sector acclaim for their abilities in creative and entrepreneurial App development.

Simulation and Gaming student Justin Norman just won a top 10 slot for Start Peninsula! Winners receive resources, professional mentoring, and Peninsula Technology Incubator access to grow an idea into reality. He won for his concept of utilizing augmented reality for various applications.

In 90 days, Justin will be in the “hot seat” to pitch his concept to a board of angel investors and venture capitalists. He also plans to help organize and lead the Entrepreneur Club on campus, open to all students who want to learn how to take an idea and turn it into a successful business.

First Theoretical and Hands-On Cloud Computing

Program to be offered in Hampton Roads

Virginia Beach, Va. – ECPI University is pleased to announce that it is now offering a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer and Information Science with a concentration in Cloud Computing at its Virginia Beach, Newport News and Online campuses.

“The importance of this degree is that it prepares students to help an organization increase information technology agility, flexibility, and security while reducing the cost and complexity of managing legacy network infrastructures,” says ECPI University Dean of Curriculum Development Thomas J. Trevethan. “The demand for these skill sets is great since companies are relying on this technology to improve efficiencies while continuing to offer services that help them maintain their business- driven competitive edge.”
