Program Description

ECPI University’s interactive educational program prepares Healthcare IT graduates to:

  • Develop networks in the Windows and CISCO environments.
  • Design and implement security plans to keep patient health information safe and secure.
  • Provide IT support to physicians and nurses.

Through the utilization of hands-on teaching techniques, you can develop knowledge in the following areas:

  • Healthcare technologies, hardware, and software

  • Installation and management of security software
  • Database design
  • Monitoring of network and security breaches
  • Risk management and disaster recovery
  • Installation and configuration of client and server operating systems, network services and security tools

  • Apply basic logical constructs such as flow charts and process diagrams in order to understand the operation and troubleshooting of information systems.
  • Design a basic relational database management application.
  • Evaluate program-specific knowledge for an individual subject area concentration (e.g., Network Security or Web Development) appropriate for a Bachelor of Science Degree.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of subject area concentration via successful completion of a capstone project, including an oral and written defense.
