– More than 25 faculty and staff members
volunteered to teach elementary school students about career
readiness through Junior Achievement.

support a campus blood drive for
the American Red Cross, donat-
ing 38 pints of blood.

– ECPI University was pleased to co-sponsor
a summer camp at STIHL to teach local high school students
about advanced manufacturing technology.

– More than 40 Physical Therapy Assistant
students and faculty exercised for 14 hours and 37 minutes
straight to honor the exhausting, long hours provided by
Alzheimer’s disease caregivers. All money raised during the
event was donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Newport News Campus
– The Business Club and Phi Theta
Kappa spearheaded the 3
rd
Annual 8K Race for Charity. Run-
ners and walkers throughout the region helped to raise more
than $2,200 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Newport News
– For three consecutive Fridays, the campus
hosted Newport News Public Schools’ Summer Training En-
richment Program (STEP), an initiative to reduce and eliminate
youth and gang violence. Students learned about apps, facial
reconstruction, health sciences, and mechatronics.

– the Criminal Justice Department hosted
local high school students participating in the Virginia Beach
Police Department’s Cadet Challenge.
