L
ast year, Vicki Brett signed on to chair
the Dental Care Project for Montero
Medical Missions, a non-profit interfaith
humanitarian organization that creates
sustainable healthcare projects through-
out the world. After nearly a year of careful
preparation, the Virginia Beach Campus’
Dental Assisting Program Director has just
completed her first mission trip.
Her 20-day journey began in the Philip-
pines where she and her team saw more
than 500 patients, performing extractions
and surgery. From there they continued to
Mongolia, serving more than 400 patients.
The care they provided was essential but
it’s what they left behind that could have
the greatest impact. Throughout the trip,
they met with local college and univer-
sity students and began training them to
become oral health educators. “Approxi-
mately half the world’s population has
serious dental health problems, including
tooth decay, periodontitis, and tooth loss,”
says Brett. “This is one way we can pro-
vide not just temporary relief, but sustain-
able care to underserved populations like
these.”
Although the mission team has returned,
the good work continues. Montero Medi-
cal Missions will keep sending medical
and dental
supplies and
the oral health
educators will
continue their
own education
and development via online classes led
by Brett. “This has been a life-changing
experience. Despite the healthcare de-
bates we see in the headlines, America
is incredibly blessed with quality medical
and dental care and I want others to have
the same thing,” she says. “I just can’t
stop thinking about the people I met. I
left a part of my heart over there and I am
definitely going back.”

A
college education is an investment in
the future. Yet, it still must be afford-
able. ECPI University wants to help ensure
that it is. Last year alone, the University
awarded more than $5 million in institu-
tional scholarships.
Now, ECPI University has launched a com-
prehensive campaign to further bridge the
affordability gap. Each facet is focused on
student success and aims to ensure that a
quality, career-focused education is within
reach.
Graduation Scholarship
Enrolling in college is the all-important first
step. However, graduation is what it’s all
about. ECPI University wants to reward
students for completing their education.
At the beginning of their final semester,
the University will award each soon-to-
be graduate between $500 and $2,500,
depending on their degree program. It’s
ECPI’s way of saying,
Job well done!
To be eligible, students need only:
• Attend full-time
• Attend at least 85% of all class time the
first semester
• Make “Satisfactory Progress” as defined
in the University catalog
• Be responsible with student loan
borrowing
• Have financial needs based on student
loan tuition debt
Fixed Tuition Pledge
ECPI University is taking the worry out of
unpredictable tuition hikes. By remaining
eligible for the Graduation Scholarship
fund, ECPI will lock-in the tuition rate at the
date of enrollment. For details, please visit

Career Advancement Scholarships
Professional certifications tell prospec-
tive employers that applicants are serious
about their career. For many years, ECPI
University has offered its students an array
of certification tests at deeply-discounted
prices, along with free preparation assis-
tance. Now, it is going one step further. For
every certification or professional license a
student earns while enrolled, the University
will present them a grant of $100 to $500.
High School Scholarships
Recent high school graduates can now
earn up to $3,000 in scholarships. To quali-
fy, the requirements are simple:
• Complete an application
• Submit a high school transcript
• Present two letters of recommendation
(at least one from a teacher or counselor)
• Write a personal essay (250 words mini-
mum) explaining reasons for pursuing
the chosen program of study
Consideration will be based on GPA, at-
tendance record, and information submit-
ted with application. To get started, con-
tact the ECPI University Financial Services
Department for an application. Scholar-
ships are combinable with the Graduation
Scholarship Fund.
Business Partnership Program
Through this program, companies are able
to provide educational benefits to employ-
ees with the goal of promoting profession-
al growth and organizational effectiveness.
This partnership has been developed to
promote higher education while fostering
a relationship with proven leaders in the
community. Contact the admissions office
for a list of participating employers.
Veterans
ECPI University is a proud participant in
the Yellow Ribbon Program which ensures
that 100% of all out-of-pocket tuition and
fees that exceed Post 9/11 GI Bill limits are
fully covered. It’s our way of saying,
Thank
you for your service!
It’s All about Support
It takes a team to produce a graduate.
Very few people reach their goals without
the support of others. ECPI University
is committed to providing the support
students need to pursue their education.
Whether it’s financial aid, student services,
or career counseling, ECPI’s support staff
is always available, from the moment they
begin exploring their options on through
the entire process: enrollment, graduation,
and the first day of a brand new career.
