## Mechanical Engineering Technology Associate Degree Overview

The Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) is a hands-on degree program which prepares students to apply engineering principles to design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot physical machines and systems with moving parts. This could involve anything from car engines to robotics. You'll gain the skills to prepare you for various industries, including product design and fabrication as well as manufacturing and systems control.

This MET program equips students with a foundational understanding of mechanical principles, through courses in material science, manufacturing processes, 3D modeling, and more.

Plus, you can complete the program in just 18 months, allowing you to make a quick impact in the field.

- **76 Total Credits** — 19 Month Associate's Degree
- **5 Week Terms** — 2 Courses Per Term
- **Up to 57 Credits** — Transfer Credits

### Knowledge and Skills

Graduates should grow in the following areas:

- **Foundational Technical and Analytical Skills:**
Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling and design. Solid understanding of CNC programming and skilled in CAD and CAM manufacturing.
- **Modern Tools and Techniques:**
Knowledgeable in hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and controls. Proficiency in using modern tools specific to mechanical engineering technology.
- **Practical Experience:**
Knowledgeable in different manufacturing processes – conducting, analyzing and interpreting experiments. Experience in applying experimental results to improve mechanical processes.

## Program Structure and Learning Formats

### Flexible Learning Environments

- **Campus**: Our campuses provide an immersive classroom setting, interacting directly with professors and classmates in real-time. Benefit from face-to-face discussions, hands-on labs, and the immediate support of instructors.
- **Online**: Flexible and convenient, online learning allows you to study on your own time, from anywhere. Access lectures, lab simulations, and course materials online, collaborating with classmates through virtual forums and discussions.
- **Hybrid**: To enhance flexibility, many campus courses are delivered via synchronous hybrid format, where students engage in both online learning activities and real-time interactions with instructors and classmates.
