Columbia Campus
President Jim Rund
led a
session at the 11
th
Annual
National Conference on
Allied Health Education
in Nashville, Tennessee.
He presented a breakout
session titled “Essential
Elements of a Positive
Campus Climate.” With
standing room only, he
led a dynamic, interac-
tive session for campus leaders. Mr. Rund has 25 years of
experience in post-secondary education, is the Executive
Officer for the U.S. Navy’s Center for Personal and Profes-
sional Development Southeast Region and travels around
the country teaching leadership to U.S. Navy officers.
James Willer,

Assisting faculty member
at the Charlotte campus,
has recently published two
articles for the Society of
Primitive Technology, one
on the immune system and
primitive man and the sec-
ond, analyzing the sound
generated by an arrow as it
crosses the bow rest.

Board of Directors.
Dr. Andrew Jung,
CIS faculty mem-
ber at the Newport

has recently co-
published “The
Minimum Sched-
uling Time for
Convergecast in
Wireless Sensor
Networks” in the
journal,
Algorithms
.
Written and re-
searched in conjunction with Suk Jin Lee of Texas A&M
University-Texarkana and Vijay Bhuse of East Tennessee
State University, the paper addresses the scheduling
problem for data collection from sensor nodes to the sink
node in wireless sensor networks, also referred to as the
convergecast problem.
