– Criminal Justice students take part in a
Latent Blood Detection Lab. Prior to their arrival, faculty mem-
bers put blood on the floor, then cleaned it with ammonia. The stu-
dents were then tasked with using cotton applicator swabs and a
phenolphthalein process to search for visually-undetectable traces
of hemoglobin. Thereafter, they sprayed the area with Luminol to
expose blood streaks which appear as a bright cobalt blue.

plexities of designing a highly-functional and compliant medical
office, incorporating consideration for people of all ages and dis-
abilities, as well as patient privacy and OSHA requirements.

Stewart Flood, students helped perform a complete audit of the
USS Yorktown’s technical equipment. They were tasked to find
all phones, printers, routers, computers, existing cabling, and
wireless access points located in all of the offices and museum,
carrier deck, theater, learning center, and gift store. This was the
first time that the ship – now a tourist attraction – had a full audit
completed since its decommissioning.
