Accreditation - Institutional
ECPI University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, and masters degrees and diploma programs. Licensures
State Council of Higher Education in Virginia. ECPI University has authority issued from the State Council of Higher Education of Virginia to offer degrees, courses for degree credit, or programs of study leading to a degree.
North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges. ECPI University is licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges to award diplomas and is licensed by the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina to award degrees.
South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. ECPI University is licensed by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education to award Bachelor of Science, Associate of Applied Science degrees and diplomas (1333 Main St. Suite 200, Columbia, SC 29201-3245, 803-737-2260). Licensure indicates only that minimum standards have been met; it is not equivalent to or synonymous with accreditation by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Virginia Board of Nursing: The Department of Health Professions, Virginia Board of Nursing has approved Practical Nursing (PN) and Registered Nursing (RN) programs at the Newport News, Richmond/Emerywood, and Virginia Beach campuses. A Practical Nursing (PN) diploma program is approved at the Richmond/Emerywood campus.
North Carolina Board of Nursing: ECPI University, Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh campuses have been granted approval for a Practical Nursing education program by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. ECPI University in Charlotte has been granted approval for an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
North Carolina Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy: ECPI University, Raleigh campus, has North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy Approval for a Massage Therapy diploma program.
South Carolina Board of Nursing: The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, South Carolina Board of Nursing has granted approval status for a Practical Nursing (PN) program at the Greenville Campus.
Maryland Higher Education Commission: ECPI University is registered with the Maryland Higher Education Commission for the delivery of online programs to residents of Maryland.
Other Approvals
ECPI University is eligible to participate in federal Title IV financial aid programs administered by the U.S. Department of Education.
ECPI University is approved for the training of veterans and other eligible persons.
ECPI University is an eligible institution to train students under the sponsorship of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
ECPI University is authorized under federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students at the following locations: Newport News, VA; Northern Virginia, VA; Raleigh, NC; and Virginia Beach, VA.
ECPI University in Virginia Beach is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Approved Technical Operations in the FAA’s Collegiate Training Initiative. This approval applies to the Electronics Engineering Technology associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs at the Virginia Beach, Virginia campus.

ECPI University has programmatic accreditation for Medical Assisting with the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (7777 Leesburg Pike, Suite 314N, Falls Church, VA 22043, 703.917.9503) at the following campuses in Virginia (Virginia Beach, Newport News, Richmond, and Northern Virginia) , North Carolina: (Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh) and South Carolina (Greenville and Charleston).
Northern Virginia (Manassas) and Richmond, VA campuses: ECPI University, has programmatic accreditation for Surgical Technology with the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (7777 Leesburg Pike, Suite 314N, Falls Church, VA 22043, 703-917-9503).
American Culinary Federation
The AAS in Culinary Arts and the Diploma in Culinary Arts offered at ECPI University's School of Culinary Arts in Norfolk, VA (Virginia Beach) are accredited by the American Culinary Federation Inc., 180 Center Place Way, St. Augustine, Florida 32095, (940) 824-4468, www.acfchefs.org.
Commission on Physical Therapy Education

Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology
Newport News, VA campus: The Medical Radiography program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT, 20 N. Graduates qualify to sit for the national exam of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
