  • While many other graduate programs focus on theory, ECPI's Master of Science in Information Systems balances theory and application, in keeping with its tradition of hands-on learning.
  • Courses within ECPI's Information Systems program emphasize applied, constructive research.
  • ECPI requires a two-course capstone. This provides more depth and opportunities for collaboration between students and employers/potential employers.

ECPI's industry-driven curriculum has been developed by working closely with IT employers and is constantly reviewed to ensure that it remains relevant and timely. Best of all, our classes are taught by experienced IT professionals who've "been there and done that!"

What's more, you can earn your Master of Science in Information Systems degree in just 15 months through our year-round schedule. And, you don't have to quit your day job! We do this by offering accelerated scheduling, a program which emphasizes short-terms and long blocks. Each term lasts five weeks. On-campus students meet twice per week for four hours each night. We also offer the program completely on line which means you can work around your schedule.

Academically, accelerated scheduling offers a number of advantages:

  • Balances workload. Major papers and tests are due three times per semester, rather than all at the end.
  • Collaborative learning. Longer blocks provide the necessary amount of time needed to foster collaboration among students.
  • "Real-world" level of immersion into a concept. Longer class periods allow faculty to provide more realistic learning experiences that mimic those encountered in the workplace.

What You Can Learn In Information Systems

ECPI's curriculum is designed to prepare IT professionals, executives, and baccalaureate degree graduates to deliver added-value to customers through information technology. Our Master of Science in Information Systems program provides students with theoretical, practical, and applied skills in computer-based information systems and the technologies that support them, augmented with broad perspective of the business and management environments in which information system technologies play a strategic role.
