Graduate Joins USAAAsk Tenell Berry about ECPI University’s Career Services Department, and you’ll likely see a big smile. She’s living proof that working closely with an ECPI career adviser can really pay off. In Tenell's case, it nearly doubled her salary.

Since leaving the Army, Tenell had been working on her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer and Information Systems with a concentration in Network Security. As a working student, she had also been using her military IT background in her job with a communications company near the Charlotte-Concord campus. Without her bachelor’s degree, however, her opportunities for growth were somewhat limited.

Long before she completed her studies, Tenell began working with Career Service Adviser Jerri Cook. “Jerri really guided my through the process and helped me take a strategic approach to my job search,” says Tenell. “I’m now working for USAA, a Fortune 500 financial services company, as a Software Developer and Engineer III. It just goes to show that education can really open up a whole new world of opportunity.”
