For service members and their families, The Military Friendly® Schools designation provides a transparent rating for post-military education and career opportunities. It's a tool they can use to easily recognize schools actively working to provide programs and meet standards.

How does VIQTORY select their Military Friendly schools?

VIQTORY selects Military Friendly® institutions using methodology within 6 different categories and input from an advisory council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Schools earning the Military Friendly® School designation are evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey.

How are higher education institutions rated?

Final ratings were determined by combining the the institution's survey scores with the assessment of the institution's ability to meet thresholds for:

  • Graduation
  • Job Placement
  • Loan Repayment
  • Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer)
  • Loan Default rates for all students, specifically student veterans
  • Student retention

More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-23 survey, with 665 earning special awards. ECPI University, for instance, earned a silver ranking in the Non Traditional School category.
