ECPI University Celebrated Nurses Week with a Campaign That Raised $10,000

ECPI University celebrated Nurses Week this year with a campaign that turned appreciation into action.

Under the national theme set by the American Nurses Association, “The Power of Nurses,” the university recognized its nursing students and faculty throughout the week with events, awards, and a social media challenge.

In partnership with The DAISY Foundation, ECPI University raised $10,000 through a social media challenge that invited online community members to share real stories about the power of nurses.

What is The DAISY Foundation, and why does it matter?

The DAISY Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to recognize and celebrate nurses. It is best known for The DAISY Award, one of the most recognized honors in the nursing profession, which gives patients, families, and peers a way to honor nurses for extraordinary, compassionate care.

ECPI University's $10,000 donation will help fund grants supporting nursing research and evidence-based practice, health equity initiatives, continuing education, and medical mission trips serving underserved communities around the world.

How did the social media campaign work?

To raise the $10,000, ECPI University invited its online community to post their own "Power of Nurses" moments on social media. For every nursing-related post that tagged ECPI, the university donated $5.

Students, alumni, faculty, and supporters responded with short videos, graphics, stickers, and personal testimonials. The posts captured a range of experiences, from everyday patient care to meaningful moments that show why people choose nursing.

Together, those posts added up to $10,000 donated to The DAISY Foundation.

How did ECPI University celebrate Nurses Week?

Throughout Nurses Week, from May 6 to 12, ECPI University recognized its nursing students and faculty under the national theme set by the American Nurses Association: The Power of Nurses.

Campuses hosted "Power Up" breakfasts to kick off the week. The celebration concluded on May 12, Florence Nightingale's birthday, with a ceremony where a faculty member was presented with a DAISY Award.

Community members, along with hospital and clinic partners, joined on campus to be part of the celebration.

How is ECPI University leading in nursing education?

According to the most recent IPEDS data, ECPI University ranks among the top producers of nursing graduates in the country, including #10 in undergraduate nursing credentials and #6 across all nursing credentials. The university also ranks #2 in the U.S. for practical nursing, and combined practical and registered nursing output places ECPI University at #5 nationally.

Many ECPI University students are adults balancing work, family, and career changes, and nursing programs are designed with that in mind. Students can earn a Practical Nursing diploma in 15 months, an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1.5 years, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2.5 years.

Through initiatives like this campaign, ECPI University continues to invest in the future of nursing while recognizing the impact nurses make every day.
