Course Description: This course is designed to explore the use of information systems in healthcare settings. Students will be introduced to the information systems and their applications in healthcare. Students will learn the history of health information systems, the uses of the electronic medical record, legal and ethical issues pertaining to electronic files, data management and use, information systems life cycle, and current and future healthcare technologies, applications, and security solutions.
