Course Description: This course introduces the student to clinical skills and procedures. It is centered on patient intake procedures including infection control utilizing practical skills, demonstrations, hands-on learning and proper medical documentation. Laboratory assessment skills, which consist of invasive and non-invasive procedures, are performed in a professional manner on classmates. Students will learn basic vital signs and measure and record body measurements. Setting up and assisting with examinations, injections and visual and auditory screenings will also be discussed. Students will learn through the use of practical skills, demonstrations and hands on learning.
