Course Description: This course introduces students to principles, theories and concepts that provide the foundation for nursing practice. Theory, research and evidence based practice are introduced and legal and ethical issues are discussed. Basic nursing skills necessary to deliver patient centered care in a multicultural society are developed. Learning opportunities are presented in the classroom and laboratory.
