Course Description: This course introduces the student to the basic principles of aseptic and sterile technique. The students will learn methods of disinfection and sterilization, hand hygiene and surgical scrub, gowning and gloving, technological sciences, pre and post-operative patient care, urinary catheterization, hemostasis, pharmacology and anesthesia, disaster preparedness and response. The student will learn the basic principles and reasons for aseptic technique.
