MPA530 Laboratory Medicine

Course Description: This course will provide an in-depth review of laboratory medicine. Students will learn medical microbiology, hematology, genetic testing, forensics, and clinical chemistry. Students will use clinical case discussions and eHospital modules to reinforce the lab medicine concepts. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to choose the best test for evaluation and determine the appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan. Students will also be able to judiciously create a treatment plan to avoid unfavorable/unnecessary tests, procedures, or treatments.
