Course Description: This course examines the ethical, professional, and collaborative responsibilities of the physician assistant in clinical practice. Students will explore core ethical principles, and dilemmas in patient care, and practical approaches to resolving ethical issues. The course emphasizes professionalism, patient protection, and the role of risk management in identifying, assessing, and reducing potential harm in healthcare settings. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply ethical principles, professionalism, patient protection, risk management strategies, and value-based care concepts in clinical practice, while recognizing the influence of cultural, social, and personal values, addressing ethical issues in end-of-life care, and demonstrating effective collaboration as part of the healthcare team.
