Course Description: This course further expands upon the principles, theories and fundamental nursing concepts introduced in previous nursing classes. Students are provided additional opportunities to develop advanced nursing skills needed to address the biopsychosocial needs of individuals in a multicultural society. Skills related to elimination, oxygenation, fluid and electrolytes, and laboratory diagnostics will be addressed. Learning opportunities are presented in the classroom, laboratory, simulation, and in supervised clinical experiences.
