Course Description: This course focuses on the clinical application of pharmacology and builds upon previous learning in the curriculum. The emphasis is on drugs commonly used for the treatment of chronic and acute illnesses and the application of the principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. Case studies will be analyzed to explore therapeutic dosage patterns, adverse effects, drug interactions, precautions, contraindications, drug effect monitoring, therapeutic evaluation, patient teaching, and the use of drugs in special populations such as children and the elderly.
