Certification Review Course

NUR654 Certification Review Course

College of Nursing Nursing Department

Course Description: This course serves as a review of the Family Nurse Practitioner curriculum across the life-span, seeking to solidify the student’s knowledge base in preparation for success on either the AANP or ANCC Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certification Exam, which is required for entry into practice. Students will cover topics and skills that will provide an assessment of entry-level professional competence. This course has been placed into the curriculum after the didactic completion of all practice areas and prior to the Nursing Synthesis courses that are practicums geared towards independent practice. These final courses in the curriculum allow the creation of both didactic and practicum experiences that give the student the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of the FNP curriculum and assess readiness for independent practice.
