When I spoke with ECPI University graduate Enahoro Omoarukhe, he reflected on everything that led him from Nigeria to earning his bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity and jump-starting his own company. It began with a summer in Greenville, South Carolina, in 2019, seeing an ECPI billboard, doing some research, and eventually deciding to make the move to the United States.

He already had an engineering degree from the University of Lagos, but the lack of reliable power and internet in Nigeria made learning difficult. “I couldn’t code all day because my systems would die,” he said. “Then I had to turn on a generator for electricity.” Having consistent access to modern technology was a major reason he chose to pursue his studies at ECPI.

While studying cybersecurity, he worked as a help desk specialist at Adidas before moving into roles with Michelin and Magna International. He also joined the U.S. military reserves, something he describes not just as service, but as a way to honor the opportunities he’d been given in America.

Balancing work, school, and military service wasn’t easy, but Enahoro credits instructors like Alan Saul and Dr. Karen Marando for always being there to support him. He kept his eyes on his goals and stayed dedicated to his passion for technology.

Today, he is a systems engineer at CGI Federal and the founder of ATAPIC, an AI-powered business management company. “Everything I learned at ECPI, I use every day,” he said. He has big plans to grow his business and hopes to create opportunities for future ECPI graduates.

What stood out to me most was how Enahoro isn’t slowing down; he’s building forward and giving back where he can. His journey has already taken him far, and this is just the beginning. We’re proud to call him part of the ECPI University alumni family.
