A recent report published by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) show tech jobs are soaring throughout North Carolina, home of 3 ECPI University campuses, and are especially strong in the Triangle area. In June, there were more than 23,000 openings, a 20 percent increase from one year ago.

And it’s not just tech companies that are hiring. “Postings continue to increase in non-tech sectors, including finance, insurance, retail, and educational services, with each industry posting at least 30 percent more job opportunities compared to last year,” says Greene Resources, which compiles the data for NCTA. Top hiring firms include:

  • Computer User Support Specialists: 2,730; +10.0%
  • Computer Systems Analysts: 2,634; +1.6%
  • Network + Computer Systems Administrators: 2,495; +8.5%
  • Information Technology Project Managers: 2,067; +11.2%
  • Web Developers: 1,653; +29.0%
  • Computer Systems Engineers/Architects: 1,589; +33.1%
  • Information Security Analysts: 1,396; +54.9%
  • Computer + Information Systems Managers: 1,387; +34.8%
  • Software Quality Assurance Engineers + Testers: 914; +18.2%
