When Personal Experience Leads to a Nursing Career

Meet Melesha Green-Fredrick, who graduated with an ADN in October 2023 from the Virginia Beach MCI campus.

Melesha's journey into nursing began during the coronavirus pandemic after seeing her mother-in-law isolated in the hospital, receiving comfort only from the nurses who treated her. From this profound experience of losing her mother-in-law, and other family members, Melesha realized the vital role healthcare professionals play in providing support during difficult times. She knew she wanted to be a nurse herself.
