ECPI University Launches Student Veterans of America Chapter for Online Students

New online chapter expands connection, advocacy, and career readiness for over 1,000 military-affiliated learners

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. [February 10, 2026] — ECPI University has launched a Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapter for its online campus, ensuring military-affiliated learners nationwide can access the same community, advocacy, and career-focused support available through ECPI’s physical campuses.

Serving over 1,000 military and veteran students nationwide, ECPI’s online campus now offers SVA programming designed to build community, strengthen awareness of earned benefits, and support career readiness. The online chapter builds on ECPI’s existing student veteran engagement across its physical campuses.

Students who participate in the online SVA chapter can expect:

  • Peer connection and mentorship for online military-affiliated learners
  • Benefit navigation and access to campus and community resources
  • Career preparation topics tied to civilian transition and employment

“I am excited to see the launch of the Online Campus Student Veteran Club chapter,” said Bill Brown, Executive Director of Military Education at ECPI University. “We are seeing strong momentum across our Student Veteran clubs on our physical campuses, and this expansion helps us better support military and veteran students in online programs nationwide, with resources that strengthen connection and career readiness.”

Designed to meet the needs of remote and nontraditional learners, the chapter will host short, virtual meetups throughout the academic year. Each meeting will feature a practical topic focused on benefits, career preparation, and the transition from military service.

“This effort grew out of a very real need,” said CJ King, faculty advisor for the online SVA chapter and a recently retired military service member. “Online students do not always have the opportunity to build the same sense of connection that comes with a physical campus. This chapter creates a place to belong, share hard-won knowledge about benefits, and prepare for what comes next.”

ECPI University Unveils ICU Simulation, Radiology Labs at Manassas Campus

ECPI University celebrates ribbon cutting at Manassas campus, unveiling new ICU simulation and radiology training labs to strengthen the regional healthcare workforce

MANASSAS, VA (February 6, 2026) — ECPI University celebrated the opening of its new ICU simulation lab and radiology training suite yesterday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at its Manassas campus, marking a significant investment in hands-on healthcare education and workforce development in Northern Virginia.

The event brought together community leaders, healthcare partners, faculty, and students for tours and demonstrations showcasing how the new facilities expand immersive, career-focused clinical training for nursing and allied health students.

Designed to mirror real clinical environments, the new labs allow students to practice patient care using advanced equipment and simulated scenarios before entering live clinical settings. The investment supports multiple healthcare pathways and aims to help address growing demand for skilled nurses and radiologic technologists across the region.

The on-campus ICU simulation lab features high-fidelity patient simulators that replicate complex medical conditions and emergency situations. Nursing students use the technology to build clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, and bedside skills in a safe, controlled environment.

“The ICU simulation lab helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world patient care,” said Dr. Pamela Smith, Director of Nursing for the BSN Program. “Students gain confidence before stepping into clinical placements, which benefits both patients and healthcare providers.”

In addition to nursing simulation, ECPI unveiled a new radiology training suite with three dedicated labs supporting the Medical Radiography program. The hands-on training environment uses industry-standard imaging technology to prepare students for careers as radiologic technologists.

The new facilities support multiple nursing and allied health pathways offered at ECPI University, including Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and Medical Radiography programs.

Beyond student instruction, ECPI plans to open the ICU simulation lab to local healthcare partners for continuing education, skills refreshers, and professional development opportunities for working nurses. The initiative is designed to strengthen collaboration between the university and regional healthcare providers.
