BAN327 Business Analytics Tools

This course introduces students to the tools used in analytics-driven organizations. Students will learn the different types of application software tools that retrieve data from one or more business systems to be reviewed and analyzed to meet organizational goals. The course will discuss how most organizations use more than one analytics tool, including spreadsheets with statistical functions, statistical software packages, databases, and sophisticated data mining tools. Upon successful course completion, students will be able to collect and display aggregate data and also explain why the results occurred to help identify weaknesses, fix potential problem areas, and alert decision makers to unforeseen circumstances.
