Acceptance of Academic Credit and Transfer Policy

Applicants of the Bachelor of Science in Cyber and Network Security (Degree Completion) program must have completed a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree from a regionally accredited institution, graduating with at least at 2.50 GPA. An official transcript is required as part of the application process.

Students who do not meet the 2.50 GPA requirement may apply for admission to the BS CNS program on a provisional status. Upon successful completion of the first semester of the BS CNS curriculum, a student may apply for a change of status from provisional admission to the full admission.

Transfer credits will be evaluated according to ECPI University’s transfer credit policy. The requirements for prerequisite courses must be satisfied, as outlined in the previous section.

ECPI University’s Cyber and Network Security, Bachelor of Science (Degree Completion) Program will give you the opportunity to learn how to protect networks against inside and outside threats such as hackers, malware, spyware, and viruses. Cybercrimes affect individuals, communities, businesses, governments, and critical infrastructure. Therefore, learning how to defend and protect an organization’s assets is an extremely valuable skillset.

The demand for trained cybersecurity and network security professionals is on the rise. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of information security analysts will grow 32 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. Demand is especially high due to the rise in sophisticated hackers. These analysts will be needed to create advanced solutions to thwart hackers from stealing critical information or causing complications for computer networks.

ECPI University’s Cyber and Network Security, Bachelor of Science (Degree Completion) Program places emphasis on cybercrime detection, as well as the design, development and implementation of tools and software. Students will gain the opportunity to build networks, and design and develop strategies to assist clients with technical problems and keep their networks secure.

This program provides a hands-on, skills based learning approach that reflects real world environments. Over a 12 month period, students will find themselves fully immersed in the world of cybersecurity and will focus on just one topic every 5 weeks, allowing for a more in depth understanding and better preparation for in demand certifications.
