NUR163 Concepts of Nursing II

This course is tailored to the professional registered nursing program and establishes the foundation for entry level nursing practice by expanding on the nursing principles and concepts introduced in Concepts of Nursing I and presents the nursing process as a core concept that provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary in the delivery of client-centered care. This course also allows for the opportunity to develop additional and more advanced skills that will address the bio-psycho-social needs of individuals in a multicultural society through a holistic approach. Math computational skills and basic computer instruction related to the delivery of nursing care and documentation are included. This course is also designed to provide registered nursing students entering the healthcare profession with supervised learning experiences in a nursing laboratory and/or in cooperating agencies. Familiarity with medical terminology, and college reading and writing competence required.
