Engineering Technology Master’s Mechanical Engineering Concentration Degree Overview
The Master of Science in Engineering Technology (MSET) with a Mechanical Engineering concentration examines how mechanical systems operate within manufacturing environments. It is designed for those who want to understand how these systems are managed to keep production running consistently.
The program focuses on robotics principles, instrumentation and control, manufacturing systems, and the use of AI in manufacturing. Students explore how automated systems are managed and maintained, how production processes are reviewed for efficiency, and how data-driven tools are used to monitor performance and support decisions.
With ECPI University’s year-round accelerated schedule, students can complete the program and earn their master’s degree in as little as 13 months.
Knowledge and Skills
Graduates develop capability in the following areas:
- Mechanical Systems Operation:
Understand how mechanical systems function in manufacturing and how they are managed during production.
- Automation and Control:
Develop effective and practical solutions that address specified engineering challenges and needs.
- Manufacturing Process Improvement:
Evaluate workflows and identify ways to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Data and System Monitoring:
Use system data and monitoring tools to track performance and support operational decisions.
Flexible Learning Environments
Our campuses provide an immersive classroom setting, interacting directly with professors and classmates in real-time. Benefit from face-to-face discussions, hands-on labs, and the immediate support of instructors.
Flexible and convenient, online learning allows you to study on your own time, from anywhere. Access lectures, lab simulations, and course materials online, collaborating with classmates through virtual forums and discussions.
To enhance flexibility, many campus courses are delivered via synchronous hybrid format, where students engage in both online learning activities and real-time interactions with instructors and classmates.
